Résumé :	A knowledge of the old Korean music forms, Hyang-ak, Tang-ak and folk music is basic to an understanding of traditional classical Korean music. The aspects of modern music which reflect the music of the reign of King Sejong of the Yi Dynasty are also noted. Typical instruments are introduced along with a description of the transmission of classical music through the generations.
